About Boston

The Women2Women conference is being held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston.

Boston is one of the oldest, wealthiest and most culturally significant cities in the United States.

The city has also played a significant role throughout American history. In fact, America’s history comes alive as you travel through the streets of Boston. From the historic Freedom Trail and Old North Church to the site of the Boston Tea Party and Faneuil Hall, history is one of the main reasons people visit Boston.

You’ll find many American "Firsts" in Boston: the first public school, the first college, the first public library, the first public garden and the first subway system.

The greater Boston area is home to a number of famous institutions of higher learning including Harvard University, Boston University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

When visiting the city, its impossible to overlook its world-class museums, theatres, sports teams, and dining. And yes, Boston’s seasonal and ever-changing weather is hard to overlook (or predict) as well.

Boston’s nicknames include "City on a Hill", "The Hub", and "Beantown".
