Women, We are Precious

By Anindira - Indonesia
March 22, 2010

I think the most pressing woman's rights are pornography and discrimination of gender. There are so many issues about pornography, not only in Indonesia, but also in many countries all around the world.

What makes me sad is that there are many people who stand up for human rights, especially for women, but women themselves are the one who are doing the action (pornography) and they draw controversies.

Porn videos and porn magazines are some of the example. In addition, there is also discrimination of gender everywhere. Most men think that they are much better than women.

Therefore, many people consider that women are lower than men. But it is time for change.  Women are  strong, and can become more powerful than men. And to me, women are like precious diamonds that has to be put in a fine place, well cared, with expensive price.

But women must honor and appreciate themselves. If women do not appreciate themselves, and do not improve their potential, it will all be useless.  So let's us girls protect ourselves, and stand up for our dignity.

Broken Hearts Lived Without Oxygen
My Life Story, Part II

By Gheed - Lebanon
March 22, 2010
"Broken hearts lived without oxygen" ,a fact or a fake ,that's what I always wondered but now I am sure that the presence of a dad in a house is not just oxygen it is the pulse of the house and without this tiny beat the heart will die and the house will be buried in the field of sorrow.d

YES, my dad fell into coma leaving behind disappointed family in a need for him .On that night my uncles came from Beirut where they settle ,my aunts arrived to support us in this anxiety. My mom was literally broken. I was shocked, a nine- year- old girl is losing her dad and she can't do a single thing!!!!! My sister was depressed, and my brother encountered the most devastating situation in his 4-year-old life .He eye witnessed dad's sickness, he watched the huge tree he used to sit under it and feel safe and secure falling down in front of him .He spoke nothing but his eyes clearly expressed his grief .And the baby in my mother's belly was afraid to come to this world without a father waiting for him, to carry him and provide him tender and care.
