Peace is proud to announce the successful
conclusion of the 2008 Women2Women Conference. The
conference took place from August 9 - 16, 2008 at
Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts,
USA. Cambridge is a suburb
of Boston.
The goal of W2W was to provide young women students from around the world with the opportunity to learn, network, and acquire the leadership and professional development skills needed to succeed. Participants also met and interacted with their counterparts from around the world.
The core theme of Women2Women was International Women's Rights. Sub-themes involved: cultural leadership, government and public service, and media technology and media literacy.
In total more than 80 young women and their teachers took part in the conference. The students represented 13 countries and 14 American states.
Those chosen to take part in the conference had to have demonstrated interest in leadership development, the democratic process and public diplomacy. The conference is our effort to empower young women to become future leaders.
