On Thursday, May 22, 2003 a new peace initiative was launched with the goal of bridging the gap between Muslim and Arab youth, and youth in the United States. This project was entitled Empower Peace. Empower Peace is a worldwide youth based program committed to breaking down cultural barriers through open dialogue promoting mutual respect, understanding and world peace.

Empower Peace utilizes the cutting edge technologies of video-conferencing and on-line streaming to connect youth from around the world. Since its inception, Empower Peace has reached over 20,000 students in 29 different countries through our broadcasts around the world. Empower Peace has engaged students from all over the globe including countries such as Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and the continental U.S. The students from these schools engaged in an open, honest and educational exchange learning first-hand about each other's culture and interests while sharing their vision and hope for peace. Each video exchange will also feature students from each country making presentations about their life styles and engaging in a question and answer segment with their peers from abroad. All Empower Peace programs are provided free of charge.

Empower Peace also hopes to assist teachers worldwide by enabling their students to learn firsthand about people and countries that they may have only experienced in schoolbooks. Furthermore, through videoconferencing and the Internet Empower Peace hopes to create an arena where students all over the world may engage in a dialogue sharing insight into their cultures, customs and live styles.

Empower Peace hopes that through our efforts, a new generation of young leaders will emerge with the understanding and respect of different cultures and peoples, and use these skills to form a better tomorrow.

Empower Peace will be experiencing its most exciting time this year with the birth of EP Radio and TV which will allow students and teachers to view interviews and interactive discussions via our website.
